Presto didn't start as a business idea. I built it for my own kids. When we moved from South Africa to New Zealand, they were placed a year ahead of where they had been at school and were struggling to keep up with the maths. More than a year later, they've caught up with their classmates, improved their maths at school and finally mastered their multiplication facts. If it helped my kids, perhaps it can help other children whose foundations haven't quite stuck. Read why I built Presto →
Apply in two minutes
Adults only (parents and guardians). Fill in the form and tell us which country you live in. If there's a place for you, we'll email you how to get Presto.
If places for your country are full, you go on the waiting list instead and we'll email you.

How to join
- Fill in the sign-up form (about two minutes).
- We'll email you within 24 hours: either how to get Presto, or that you're on the waiting list.
- Get Presto and create your Presto account. Right now we send a test link (TestFlight on iPhone and iPad, Google Play on Android). When Presto is in the app stores, we'll send an invite code instead, and you'll type it in the app when you create your account. Use the same email you gave us as your Presto account email, so your feedback and your founding family place are matched to you.
- Set up Presto on your child's device (optional). Presto isn't open to everyone in the app stores yet, so your child can't search for it. Your child is also welcome to use Presto on your own phone or tablet, or a shared family device, in which case there's nothing more to install and you can skip this step and the next.
- iPhone or iPad: send your child the same install link you received to install. Apple only allows test versions on accounts for children 13 and over (or the minimum age in your country), so younger children should use your device instead.
- Android: send your child the same install link you received to install. Make sure you included your child's Google account email on the sign-up form for this to work.
- Sign in on your child's device. Your child signs in to your Presto account, not a separate account of their own.
- All the details will be included in your invite email.
Ticking "I agree to the tester terms" on the form means you've read this page and you're happy with everything on it.
What you get
- Presto is free during its launch period, with every level, including levels added later. It will then become a subscription app, and we'll tell you first.
- Founding families are the first group of families we invite. The email we send you explains exactly what a founding family's place includes. Families who join later, including from the waiting list, join as regular families.
- Places are limited. We invite founding families in stages and keep a fair share of places for each country, so a place for you depends on where you live.
- No strings attached. It isn't earned by testing a set amount, and it stays even if you stop testing.
The waiting list
When places for a country are full, new applicants go on the waiting list instead. It's the same form. More about the waiting list → We'll only use your details to email you about your place, or when Presto opens to everyone. Being on the waiting list isn't a place yet, and it doesn't make you a founding family.
How you can help
- Start at the very first level, even if it looks far too easy. Every level builds on the one before it, and gaps in the basics are what make school maths hard. Easy levels go quickly, so your child will move up fast. Please don't skip ahead to what they're doing at school right now.
- On Android: join the Google Play test from the link we send, and stay in it so you keep getting updates. If your child will test on their own Android device, we need their Google account email: Google only lets accounts on our test list join, and a child account managed by Family Link may also need your approval to install.
- On iPhone or iPad: install the test version from the TestFlight link we send, then, if your child is 13 or over, text the same link to their own device (younger children use yours).
- Tell us what happens, using the bug button inside the app (see below).
- Know another family with kids? Please share this page with friends and family. The more families who test Presto, the better it gets.
- Expect a few rough edges. Test versions can have bugs, and finding them is the point.
What to look for
The most useful thing you can do is watch your child use it, rather than asking them whether they like it.
- Can your child start and finish a level without you explaining anything?
- Where do they hesitate or look confused? Which screen, which question?
- Are they frustrated, or just challenged? That difference matters most to us.
- Does the pace feel like a short daily habit, or like homework?
- Does the Learn page for a level actually help them get started?
- Can you follow your child's progress from the parent screens without help?
How to send feedback
- Tap the bug icon while you're on the question or level it's about. The app adds the question, the level, your device and the app version for you.
- Pick a type: Bug (something is wrong), Too hard, Too easy, Feature (an idea), or Other. Too hard and Too easy appear when you report from inside a level.
- Describe one specific moment, not a rating. "She didn't know her 7s yet, so every question was a guess" helps us. "It's great" doesn't.
- Add a screenshot if it helps. Please don't include your child's full name.
Every report is read.
Keeping it between us
Presto isn't open to everyone yet. Please don't post screenshots or details of unreleased levels or features on social media or elsewhere. Telling friends you're testing a maths app is fine. There's no legal paperwork.
Your privacy
We use the details you give when you sign up only to run the test and manage places: to send you invites, to match your in-app reports to you, to put you on the waiting list if places for your country are full, and to contact you about testing. If you came here from a link we posted, we also note which post it was, so we know where testers find us. We don't share or sell them. We ask which country you live in so we can keep a fair share of places for every country. Presto is currently offered to families in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, the US, South Africa and Singapore. It isn't offered in Canada at this time. The form is run by Tally, the answers are kept in Notion, and our Privacy Policy explains the rest. You can ask us to remove your details at any time by emailing support@prestomath.com, and we'll delete them.
Stopping
You can stop testing whenever you like, and your account keeps the same access. Just let us know at support@prestomath.com.
