So I built Presto for them.
For more than a year, they've used it to practise the fundamentals every day — one skill at a time, repeating what they found difficult and mastering each level before moving on. I've watched them catch up with their classmates, improve their maths at school and finally master their multiplication facts.
That's why I'm sharing Presto with other families.
I built it because my kids needed it. Now I hope it can help other children build the foundations they need too.
When a child struggles with maths, the problem often starts much earlier than the question in front of them. A missing fact, a shaky concept or a gap in understanding can make everything that follows harder.
Presto finds those gaps and helps children close them. It builds fluency layer by layer, so the basics become quick, accurate and automatic — giving children a stronger foundation for everything they learn next.
This isn't maths dressed up as a game. It's focused practice designed to make children genuinely better at maths.
Short, timed runs focus on one skill at a time. Children need to master one level before moving to the next. Every wrong answer is tracked at the individual fact level, so practice can target exactly what needs work. A daily review brings weak points back until they become strengths.

One family account can support multiple children, each with their own progress and practice history.
Parents set up the family account and add their children by first name. Children can then practise on any device signed into the family account, while a parent PIN keeps account settings protected.
Presto is designed to make maths practice easy to fit into family life. Sessions are short and finish when the run is over. There are no in-app purchases, ads or open social features competing for a child's attention.
And Presto works alongside pen and paper, not instead of it. Learn pages show the method clearly so children can copy it onto paper, work things through themselves and check their answers quickly.
Presto's maths pathway is a carefully structured ladder of levels, mapped against the New Zealand, Australian, US and UK curricula and arranged broadly in the order children encounter those skills at school.

The aim isn't to produce a high score on an app.
The aim is a permanent foot up in maths.
A child who once had to stop and think about a basic calculation can begin to answer it without hesitation. That fluency makes the next lesson easier, then the next one, and the one after that.
Presto isn't designed to replace a teacher, tutor or parent.
It's the practice that helps learning stick.
Whether a child learns from school, an app, a tutor or extra lessons, regular practice makes a difference. Parents don't need to become maths teachers. They just need to stay connected: ask how practice went, notice when a level gets difficult, step in to help and help to keep the habit going.

Presto uses a little gamification to encourage consistency, but never lets the game become the point.
Children may earn medals, build a streak or try to beat a previous time. There are no coins to collect, shops to browse or avatars to upgrade.

Presto focuses on maths from number and calculation through fractions and early algebra, with the rules and foundations needed for more advanced maths. It doesn't try to be everything for everyone.
